Phone screen repair

My wife recently smashed the screen on her Galaxy S3, and was quoted silly money to fix it (around ?100).

In the end it turned out insurance she had through her bank account covered it. So if you pay a fee for your account, check what sort of cover you have, as it may save you quite a bit of cash.

I can fix it for you

Cost depends of the number of glasses you managed to crack so...

Iphone 5 has 3 layers of glass

1st is the protecting glass

2nd is the touch screen digitizer

and the 3rd is the LCD display

If only the first two layers are broken you looking at the cost of ?70

Cos I would need to order for the front film

which will work as the protecting rubber for the front screen protecting glass

Then I will have to get the front protecting glass

And touch screen digitizer

And that is the cheap option

... but if you see any damage on the LCD display

I.e crack, scratch, or the display is blury flashy etc then you better buy another one as the whole set inc. ?30 labour will be ?180

If you want you can reply or send me your number and I will call you

And we will clarify where we stand..

BTW you have done a good job by cracking the hardest nut of all

Cheers

Dan

Ok let's say it different

As a customer everyone of us has statutory right

To get any new phone replaced by the network provider

If it gets damaged within 3 months

These days we as customers have been stripped out of that rightbeing forced to payfor something that has been always a standard warranty

So in simple words just return the the phone as

That is one of your basic statutory customer rights

(if this is a contract phone and BTW if is on 3 network they cover your phone thruout the whole 247 months of contract)

My sis recently went to a repair shop... quoted a ridiculous amount of money for the work. She ended up buying the bits and bobs needed, found instructions how to replace the screen online and sorted it all herself - she's not the most techy minded person nor particularly patient yet managed it herself...

Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
