On Sunday I ordered a Deliveroo from Gourmet Burger Kitchen. They claimed not to be able to find me even though they'd delivered to me before, and I was also standing on the street looking for them and texting them! They then said they'd left the food - well it was nowhere on the whole street. They are now charging me for the delivery. At GBK they said there'd been lots of complaints like this and when I look on Trustpilot, loads of people saying their food was taken or never delivered. Anyway be warned. And if anyone has tips on how to get my money back let me know. Have lodged a complaint! I'll never use them again.

The reason I deleted my food delivery apps!

Even with a refund, I wasn't happy because I eventually found the food on another doorstep! They had been on the phone telling me they're in my road driving up and down. I was in the (short) road and they were not!

Last time I ordered from Deliveroo, within the last week or so, there was a new security feature. On confirmation of the order they gave me a number code which I had to tap into delivery driver's machine [smart phone??] in order for driver to hand over my meal.

    • If this is you or you know of them, please send me a private message. They're likely to live on Crystal Palace Road. Thanks.
    • In my experience there is no fool proof solution to this with any company. Delivery drivers are people and people will make mistakes, cut corners, mis-understand instructions or simply not read them.  I've left instructions for parcels with just about every single company out there and at some point they've all screwed up.  I think the security camera is the best deterrent for thieves. In this case, my ring door bell spooked them off. I've just installed warning signs at my safe space to make it even clearer that they're being recorded. In the case that mistakes do still happen by the couriers, at least I know about it on the camera and can try to alert a neighbour if I'm not home.  Its sad that we have to turn our homes into fort knox with cameras but that's the world we live in.

    • Come now, you have seen the constant threads concerning poor post and deliveries since the Dulwich office closed and merged with Peckham  Surly that alone tells you how it would compare to now as the whole system was way more efficient.  But despite the complaints and warnings here we are!!
