HWe bought this high quality basin mixer tap for about £100 for a recent bathroom refurb but it didn't work with our plumbing which needed the low pressure version so it's only been used for about 6 weeks. It's the Grohe Eurostyle Cosmopolitan Mono Basin Mixer

  Negligence on the part of the company and/or the courier then, surely? And/or some sort of prior arrangement between the driver and whoever made off with the sofa? It's rather a large thing to be a random theft by a passer by!
