James recently finished replacing 7 Victorian Sash windows in my house to an amazing standard. He worked quick and efficiently, hardly any mess in the house and any he did make, was cleaned and left very tidy.

Since the windows have been replaced, I can already feel the difference. It’s so much warmer inside and they block out a lot of noise.

So happy with the work James has done, highly recommend him.

Here is his contact number-

After initially having a very good experience with James, I have to say unfortunately, he left the job unfinished and he blocked my number after I had paid him!

Communication was great at first, the bulk of the work was done well but there were a number of things left to finish off. He promised to return the next day and complete the work but he did not return or reply to any messages or calls. This was frustrating as we have a 1 year old and all the furniture we moved was kept away from the windows for his return leaving us very tight for space for days and us wondering when he would return. Dust and debris was left on the floor below the window, expanding foam was left unfinished at the top where a large hole was and our dado rails which came off the wall during the fitting were attached back on but not finished off with paint chips on the walls. The shelf he fitted below the window was not up to standard, it was unsupported on one side, something he again said he would fix on his return. I quote 'we would never leave a job unfinished', well, after giving me a sob story about not having enough money to pay his two workers, I felt bad and paid the full amount when he invoiced me the same day. A mistake I wont make again and I feel betrayed for trusting him for his word. He has blocked my number with no reply after over 1 week.

I will finish off the job myself so no big issue for me but I warn anyone else, please do not pay in full unless he has finished.

    • I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.
    • does either of them have a surgery? probably not over summer, but I thought they had to give the opportunity for their constituents to meet them.
    • MaryT, I’ve contacted the Dulwich Hill councillors several times in recent years, always copying them both in. I have never had an acknowledgment from Jon Hartley (not even an automated response or out-of-office) nor had any response or engagement from him regarding the issue raised.   On each occasion, only Maggie Browning responded (she uses an out-of-office if she is away). The last time, I received no response from either for 3 months, until Maggie Browning emailed me to apologise for not responding and asking if the problem had been resolved.
    • The  Kwasi effect is being considered.
