Undergraduate seeking summer work locally

My 18yo son, currently in the first year of a history degree at Bristol University, is seeking paid summer work locally. He is articulate and outgoing and ideally looking for some experience in the food and drink industry (which probably means bar or waiting work). Is anybody aware of any agencies that deal with opportunities locally or of any such local opportunities this summer? He will be available from mid June to September. Any (sensible) ideas gratefully received.
