Hello everyone,

My daughter sat the Kingsdale Mathematics Scholarship assessment last week.

She has reached half scholarship standard.

Does anyone know what this means in terms of what she will get?

I know about the full scholarships, but not sure what is on offer (if anything) for half scholarships.

Thank you.

I'm not sure. I know someone who got Gifted and Talented in Maths, but I don't believe they get any extra lessons (according to my son anyway).

The Maths scholars are going on a trip abroad this year with limited places, and when these were not all taken up, spare places were offered to Gifted and Talented Students, so the child we know is going on that trip (I'd assume that would be the same for half-scholarships in this regard).

I don't recall any mention of half-scholars for Maths so wonder if they get moved to Full Scholars or G&T once in the school - if you email they will probably answer, but maybe a bit later in the year.

Good luck.

    • Many of you will recall my previous posts seeking recommendation of local eateries for a family meal. Having vegetarians, those who cannot take dairy products or  are gluten intolerant  we  were looking at a menu which could accommodate everyone's requirements. Having been to Love Dulwich twice in t he past for lunch, we went again and discovered that we could reserve for 10 people (would have been 12 ). I am pleased to say Love Dulwich did not disappoint - a wide choice, beautifully cooked and presented, adults and kids loved the food. We booked for 7 pm and were surprised at the number of people already dining there, with several more coming through the evening. Service was good and coped well with multiple orders. Well recommended.
