emilou
Okay not entirely sure this the right section but thought I could rely on the family discussion board for someGood ideas. It's the hubby's mums 60th birthday coming up. They live out of town but we'd like to treat her to an afternoon/evening out it London town. We were thinking champagne afternoon tea but other ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. scareyt
The 7th floor restaurant of the Rate does a nice champagne afternoon tea and so does the British Museum cafe on the balcony of the old reading room. Both just as nice and much cheaper than the fancy hotels. Lochie
The Wolsley is really nice and feels special, not too expensive either. I also went to the Savoy for afternoon tea with work last week. That was really good value for money as you could literally eat as much as you like (and I did!). It's a nice trip as the Savoy has been recently done up, the loos are worth a visit alone! If your MIL really appreciates good baking I would recommend both the Wolsley or Savoy. Hope you all have fun. ouri1969
what about booking a garden tour of the garden at Highgrove which includes afternoon tea after the tour....or evening visit to Buckingham Palace after hours with a glass of champagne...obvioulsy need to stick to available dates, but certainly ,memorable!...also fashionista tea at The Berkeley has cakes and things are made to complement what is on the catwalk...check out new spring summer collection!
