Came past this bit of awful workmanship. Looks as if this job is considered to be finished. Didn't anyone from their team use a form to be able to cut the new paving slabs with arcs to fit around the postbox? What on earth are they are going to do now! That's cast iron and just shoving a load of clay and bits from the pavement works around it, isn't going to protect the anchor. Conways, this is supposed to be beneath pavement level - surely that's obvious! This is an important and useful vintage Victorian postbox, now standing on the equivalent of its tippy toes. There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the Royal Mail about this so it can be saved before it gets damaged or is accidentally toppled.

    • i think I have seen that animal rescue charities can use old towels/sheets etc. Can anyone give me the address of one that I can donate them to - or do they collect?

Kids are sick from time to time.  We all were.  We all are occasionally.  Unless there is a serious outbreak of a bug that can potentially hospitalise a lot of people, then public health will not get involved. For your own benefit you can always visit the cafe and check out their scores on the doors food safety rating and if they are not displaying one, question why. A few years ago there was a large e coli outbreak at the Glastonbury festival, cows graze the land and some festival goers were not being too hygienic.  A reminder to us all to wash our hands etc.  with COVID this should be second nature
