Our lovely nanny is leaving to start her own family, having been with us for 4.5 years. We are looking for someone to look after our two children, 2 and 5 years old, starting at the end of June. We live in East Dulwich. More details are included below. Please contact us - Martha and Max - thanks!


Nanny for Two Children


Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and caring nanny to look after our two children, aged 2 and 5. The nanny will be responsible for school drop off and pick up for the 5-year-old and taking care of the 2-year-old throughout the day. They will also be responsible for home tasks such as booking activities, cooking healthy meals and laundry for the children. During school holidays, the nanny will need to look after the 5-year-old during day times. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 18:30, with extra hours for babysitting paid on top.


Responsibilities:


Provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children

Pick up and drop off the 5-year-old at school

Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities with the children

Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children

Bathe and dress the children as needed

Administer medication to the children if required

Handle light housekeeping duties related to the children

Manage children's laundry

Book and organize age-appropriate activities for the children

Provide basic first aid when necessary

Communicate effectively with the parents regarding the children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns

Attend to the children's emotional and social needs

Provide a stimulating and fun environment for the children


Requirements:


Previous experience as a nanny or childminder

Paediatric First Aid qualification

Enhanced DBS check

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent English language skills

Ability to work flexible hours when required

Positive, confident, and kind personality

Ability to provide a safe, caring and fun environment for the children

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively


Salary and Benefits:


Salary range between £28,000 to £30,000 per annum based on experience

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
