Have been advised by a reliable source that the angled traffic bays opposite the shopping parade in DV village  do not conform to the highways regulations because  vehicles have to reverse out blind in to passing traffic.

If the bays were converted to parallel parking then they would conform . OK, this would mean a  little fewer bays but many are now not used since Southwark made it a controlled parking area to generate more revenue.

Whilst on the subject of parking there, now that our Councillors, in their wisdom, blocked off the entrance to Calton Avenue so that they could create  the infamous "Village Square". As that is now fait a complit, it would make sense to create a loading bay there so that the multitude of delivery vans servicing the Post Office and shops could park there briefly rather than distrupt the tyraffic as they do now.

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property

    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
