slightly alarmist headline for a common occurence

In no way is the forum being hacked - you have justs seen some of the bazillion spam emails that get posted every day. If you follow ANY link to an unknown site then of course you leave yourself open to getting a nasty but that's nowt to do with the forum being hacked

Actually are there any links in those posts anyway? They are clearly spam and need to be removed as such but not sure you can even click through to leave yourself open

Although anyone thinking they are going to find anything interesting clicking on a thread called:

"DB-Weave TOTAL CAD/CAM DSV Esteco ASIC MyAnal OpenWorks RFEM DSP56800 Practical BuiltWorks M32C TRAN"

probably does need all the help they can get

There are a couple of links there, actually - I wonder whether we are seeing a message from a computer which has itself been hacked - the 'message' is rubbish - I suppose the con is to get someone to click on the link to see what its about. Obviously avoid clicking - and can Admin block the computer ID that is posting the messages - only registered today anyway?

I reported three of them to admin, who took them down immediately and presumably blocked this person. But then half an hour later another one popped up with the same user name, which is why I assumed the forum had been hacked, as blocking him obviously hadn't worked.

It's not alarmist if some forumites' computers are compromised by clicking on the links in the post (they're at the bottom, Straferack) - and you forget that people are by nature curious. I know it took all my strength not to!

    • Fair points, not arguing with you on them.  What people forget is that immigrants or low skilled workers do the jobs the home population don't want to do and without those jobs being done, things very quickly grind to a halt, i.e. hospital cleaners, all very necessary, but I'd have thought the majority are on minimum wage. And Minimum Wage (35hrs/wk) isn't exactly what I'd call minimum. Just over £21K, easily double and a bit more than what I get in monthly pension income to live off.
    • Well he couldn’t deliver anything better than a poor brexit. Because no such thing exists
    • Fair points jazzer. But it begs the question, on what information are people basing their opinion? because if it’s x or the right wing media the of course they will believe nothing has happened but people who claim to be motivated by rising immigration numbers are either ignorant of or don’t care the those numbers have dropped significantly since Labour got in Hospital waiting lists are finally showing improvements after years of getting worse people on minimum wage are better off We haven’t had a random general election or new prime minister just months after the last one  compare that to Tory chaos Important relations with other countries (important for long term trade and growth) have improved under labour given the size of the mess they inherited it’s far better than many give credit for  and the prospect of a Badenoch and/or farage govt returning us to the chaos of last 10 years? No thanks (I could do a long list of things Labour have done wrong or badly but that’s for another thread. I did not vote for Labour, but all things considered they are a massive improvement on what came before. Unfortunately we have a bunch of far right agitators kicking off around the country because they are cry babies which gives impression country is going downhill  when it’s really not)
    • he's not on the general radar - not with the Labour tax scandal and the new Tories wanting to buddy up with Starmer (on their terms). if anything, he's a irrelevant distraction from some real alarms
