I’m sorry you were not able to adopt a cat from CHAT but it is certainly not rare that someone is deemed to have a good enough home. I have been involved with CHAT for over 10 years and have seen hundreds & hundreds of cat adopted & fostered. Unfortunately as quickly as cats are found new homes more cats are abandoned or rescued by CHAT & more homes needed. -
Personally I would wait until I could afford an architect..a good architect could save you money in the long run as well as stopping you from having a cookie cutter extention as mentioned by @alice. -
Contact the local fire brigade- they used to visit premises and advise on fire prevention. Different 'fires' use a variety of extinguishers. -
