The drumming is fantastic, but its really anti social of an evening when trying to relax at home after a long days work and trying to get an early night.

Is there any way of letting us residents know when you're going to be rehearsing so we have some warning? The sound really travels across the common.

I do love it, but would prefer to hear it during the daytime or weekend :)

Hi Beckerina, sorry it's a bit of a bother. The problem is in the day time we've had complaints from people in the cafe. We used to rehearse in the Rye Hill TRA but they started charging us and we can't afford rent. I'm looking for some alternative spaces

If anyone has some suggestions please let me know, thanks.

Maybe the local residents might have a collection to pay your rent.. :)

I was out on the Rye last evening enjoying listening to these drummers when the fun police came and told them to stop. It wasn't particularly late - about 6:30pm and they had a some good beats going not just random noise.

It was a shame they had to stop although they appeared to be very good natured about it. I wouldn't have thought they were making much more noise than police helicopters and cars with sirens going.

It would be interesting to know what the council noise team's position on it would be.

Yesterday evening was their last performance/session on Peckham Rye. One complaint had been received by the council from a local resident who was apparently unable to hear their TV. Unfortunately, despite the many people that did enjoy the drumming the single complaint was enough to stop it.

I spoke to the guy who runs it, last night. He said that although it was a set back for them, they'd be carrying on somewhere else.

    • Yes, thanks, that's true, the previous information on here might be out of date even if I could find it. I was hoping someone on here might have up to date info. I will phone them in the morning.  I had a previous thread on here about the Oxfam book shop but for various reasons I haven't been able to get stuff down there, and now I just want it out of the way.
    • Best to call them. What might have been the case last week may not be now. There's also Oxfam book shop in HH
    • Because it's easier to ask on here than have to make a special trip out when I'm very busy and also expecting deliveries 🙄 And then possibly have to go out again with the books. And I thought I remembered a previous discussion on here. Isn't that what a local forum's for?
    • Our very large apartment in a converted industrial building in the area is very unusual so we are keen to find a really good local estate agent who may have experience  in marketing and selling unique properties in the area and who  can 'think outside the box' . We already know of all the agents who deal in unusual properties throughout London (ie not just in this area)  eg 'The Modern House' etc etc. thanks for any tips!
