  1. I am with O2 and the reception is absolutely awful. Apparently a mast has been down for over a year and they are not too fussed with repairing it. The reason why is because they are assuming everyone knows about WiFi calling and has the option to use it on their handsets. I finally figured out how to turn on wifi calling on my Galaxy phone (as it was not obvious and very challenging in finding the function). I have to say calls to and from my house are much improved.
  2. I want the buses go back down Rye Lane. I dislike the walk from Nigel Road to Rye Lane Station and vice versa - especially after working a 12 hour shift. I dislike having to walk amongst the inebriated on Friday/Saturday nights just so I can catch the next available bus to get home. The distance from Rye Lane Station to Peckham Bus Garage is just as long and also a great inconvenience. Are we going to have to do a demonstration to get this bus route back?
  3. Hi All I am in the SE15 and last year received several text messages that O2 would be working on the signal and fixing a telephone mast, however this has not happened. This year the signal is pretty much no existent and O2 appear to be dragging their feet over repairing the phone masts. Alas I still have 15 months to go on my contact. Would I be within my rights to cancel my contact because I am not getting the service I have paid for and O2 don't seem committed to repairing the phone masts.
  4. I was over the park around 5.45pm and a helicopter was circulating and then landed. Police cars where seen also. Does anyone know what was going on?
  5. I would like to receive some quotes to fit a bath shower mixer tap please
  6. Please can people post their recommendations for a Laminated Floor Fitter. I also need someone to take up my old laminated flooring and dispose of it. Thank you

    Moths again

I once had a moth invasion in my kitchen cupboards. After throwing away all non tin items and bleaching the cupboards I thought they were gone, but the critters came back. That's when I took out my trusted steamer. Blitzed the kitchen and have never seen a moth since!
  8. Hi I am contemplating changing broadband provider. I am currently with Sky (15 years!!) and rarely had issues with their service, but am annoyed by the constant price hikes. I am tempted to try Talk Talk, tv advert is advertising ?27.50 per month for 2 years, however would welcome other people's recommendations. Thank you
  9. I was told by a bus driver that they had all received emails from TFL instructing them not to stop on Copeland Road. He advises that people complain to TFL.
  10. Thank you all for your kind words and compassion, I really appreciate this. My kitty was a beautiful and assertive Russian Blue - lots of personality and lived her life to the fullest. She is missed by us all but I am grateful for the time she was with us.
  11. This morning one of the road estate cleaners came and informed me that my cat was dead by the side of the road. This was on Heaton Road. When I went to see I was horrified to discover she was still alive but in an awful state, by the time she was taken to the vets she was dead. On my way home from the vets I was standing by the road where she was discovered, only to be informed by a stranger that he had seen the whole thing from his window. He informed me that it was no 12 bus that had run her over late last night, and that a couple had picked her up and placed her by pavement. I am so distressed to know she had been lying there for hours in agony before she finally passed away. I want to thank those that helped me, but also want to say if animal is found like this, who do you call for help? Its not right an animal is left to die in agony for hours. Also cheers to the bus driver who killed my kitty.

I had a male cat that used to roam the streets with a pack of foxes for years! So I agree, not all these attacks can be attributed to foxes.
  13. Hi Lee I've seen this couple before several months ago when out with my dog, they are extremely defensive of their dog and yes I can confirm they are confrontational, moreso the asian man.
  14. The council are not responsible for individual peoples behaviors, what exactly are you expecting them to do?
  15. I too can vouch for Kevin and Pat, professional guys who arrive on time and are extremely patient! They have just helped to move a corner leather sofa that was very heavy with no fuss! Thank you guys!! p.s. found them on this forum so thank you to those who recommended them.
  16. One day I noticed in my garden a vixen nesting with her cubs. My cat was a kitten at the time. As this vixen was nursing I decided to leave food out for them out on a nightly basis. I happily let my kitten roam about the garden, didn't even give it a second thought. The vixen eventually moved on with her cubs (or so I thought) and my kitten grew up, a few months or so later, one night I returned home in the early hours of the morning and saw 3 foxes strolling down the middle of the road with one tiny small one in the middle, which turned out to my cat!! He had formed a close bond with the cubs and they hang out together. So my experienced would be no but naturally dependent upon the individual cat and fox!
  17. I've decided to change my laminated flooring and want to know where can I safely dispose of the old flooring. Does Southwark Council collect laminated flooring or will it have to be taken to the local dump, wherever that is? Does anyone know of a service that can remove and dispose of the flooring for me? Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
  18. From what I have seen over the past few months, there appears to be quite a few people - male and female - doing various chanting etc over the park. Much to myself and dogs amusement. They believe this is a way of having direct spiritual conversation with their "God".
  19. I am really saddened by this news. My thoughts and sympathies to the owner for their loss.
  20. In my opinion, Rye Lane is a slum high street. I shake my head, rows and rows of butcher shops selling rotting fish and meat - how they have passed environmental health I'll never know. Numerous unregulated "hair salons" have set up, again - another accident/incident waiting to happen. Rye Lane is long due a great overhaul. For now I'd just be happy to walk down a clean and tidy high street, without having to feel I am running the gauntlet down Squalor Lane!
  21. How about some parents acting responsible and not allowing their children to play in sand that has clearly not been allocated to their play area? If parents want sand provided for their children to play in, why not request it, and have it safely put in the child playing area, whereby it is protected by high railings and a dog free area. Simple sense really.
  22. A few years back I had a bad infestation in my kitchen, found moths in my food cupboard and was reluctant to spray because of health risks. However I decided to throw away all the packet foods and kept the tinned stuff only and used sprays, but after a a week or so notice they were back. I contacted a pest control firm and was given a ludicrous quote, which outraged me as much as the moths. That's when I got the idea to use my steamer - worked a treat!! no chemicals used! and better still - never seen a moth since! I advise all to use a steamer but do a spot test first on certain fabrics/furnishings.
  23. Yay another satisfied customer of Paul's. I called him on Monday and he came round on Thursday and completed works quickly and efficiently. He is also great with dogs!!! I will definately be calling him again for any future works needed. I also want to thank you guys who prevously recommended him - I found his number through this forum Here is Paul's number again - 07843 877284 Thank you Paul
  24. @ Dennis big lolz I too have seen a woman in Brixton, doing exactly as you said, at the bus stop near McDonalds - and again I was equally disgusted, however, it was clearly evident that this individual had serious mental health issues and enjoyed the shocked looks we all gave.
