thanks Pugwash I'll check out prices.

I've also been told about a good value place in Belvedere near Woolwich called Thames Self Storeage and saw one yesterday near Swanley called 'Green Box' which looks good, if anyone else is also looking.

  • 1 year later...

We ended up getting a large garden shed for our build, it did the job and kept it after to store the garden and sports stuff.

If you need off site storage, most of the storage companies do introductory offers, such as £1 for first month and its generally cheaper to book this online to avoid the admin fee - check the small print as most charge a lock fee and compulsory insurance fees. Also check when you can access your stuff.

Consider how often you'll need to access your items as the cost is generally higher for more accessible storage where you can visit as you please, such as Suregard and Big Yellow, and cheaper for the companies where you fill a storage container and they take it away to a remote storage location.

Hope this helps

    • Paul's on lordship lane is a good place for garden plants.  He is based near the old harvester on the opposite side of the road he offers good advice on which plants will grow in different positions etc.
    • I've read this thread and made notes! So many useful tips! Would anyone have a recommendation for  a place that sells good quality topsoil that would also be able to drop from a tipper? 10 cubic meters minimum. Thanks in advance and any further advice on garden centres with good selection of shrubs/climbers would be welcome, I plan to visit them all. Garden is fully dug up with drainage just put in.
    • I reccomend Crab Salad-I used to have my hair cut by the owner when he was at Blue tit in Peckham...I moved with him to Cs when he opened it. I've had other stylists there when he was'nt available on the date I could make and they're all excellent. Its a nice vibe too-just very relaxed not too 'hairdressery' (If you know what I mean) and I've reccomended it to neighbours and colleages who've all been very happy. Its not the cheapest but nor is it super pricey and they use good products too.
    • I went last week and would recommend. I was very happy to see pricing based on hair length and especially a fringe trim price. I live nearby and don’t need it fully styled / blown out after a cut (curly so usually prefer to do it myself) so I like that it is variable pricing in that way.
