Why We’re Different

There's lots of childcare to choose from in the area, and we are certainly at the higher end of the price range. But there's a reason for that: we strongly believe for children to have a safe, rewarding and personlised experience where they get to try something completely different every day you need 5 things:

1. Highly qualified and experience teachers and TAs with a minimum of 2 years full-time classroom experience paid at a level similar to a teaching supply role.

2. Small class-size groups with ratios way over the Ofsted minimums - we have 1:8 for 4-7's and 1:10 for 7-11s supported by a 6-strong management team, SEN specialist, medic/first responder from an agency who's full - time every day job is first aid (so we're not relying on the memory of training completed up to 3 years ago!) and a Resources team who create our daily arts and crafts workshops

3. A highly structured and themed creative day involving a combination of free-choice creative play and carefully designed workshops and an industry-professional special guest to bring something unique and different to every day of the week - many holiday clubs repeat activities, but our programme is completely different every day, so kids never get bored.

4. Innovative use of technology to keep children safe – our safeguarding and register systems use the latest technology so staff can see live register data, track incidents and accidents, securely share important medical and support data between group teams, communicate as a team instantly should support be needed, and triple check children in and out of the building.

5. Some very special extras…activity books on the way in, prizes on the way out, giant inflatables, and chances to take on roles and responsibilities such as our Eagles Super Squad who love to show parents round, and our Checklist Champions – volunteers in each group who don the yellow or blue bibs and are responsible to checking area lists on arrival in each space to make sure everyone’s got what they need! Plus two arts and crafts makes per day carefully designed for age and stage!

We are a small family business, and we love getting to know the children who come through our doors again and again when they join our Nimble Family.  To provide this service and retain our great team, we charge the minimum amount possible and we’re so grateful whenever a family chooses us to look after their child. We hope in return they come out day after day full of exciting tales.

As one parent put it:

'It's the most wonderful and reassiuring thing to be able to drop your child off and see them bounce in with excitement and come out with the same level of excitement and enthusiasm for all they've done' -  Feedback - April 2023

So come and join us this summer if you haven’t already book and experience the Nimble way – we hope you won’t look back!

    • It was £1k for the claim for the subsidence in my front bay. This new policy would have had an excess of £2k, but unfortunately in looking through a load of old paperwork  I came across old claims for ground movement in 1998 and around 2000 ( I think) at the back of the house, which I had completely forgotten about and had been completely sorted at the time. In the interests of full disclosure, once I had found them I had to tell the insurance company, who then hiked the  excess up to £5k, even though it was so long ago. The brokers said they would try to get that reduced  next year.  🙄
    • "If I hear 'my father was a tool maker' / my wife's a nurse / my father was a GP one more time... as if any of those things qualify anyone to fix / understand anything. "   yeah but that's not the point here - many (most?) of the people watching last night are the voters who tend not to pay much attention to Westminster and may well buy the "they are all the same - born into money and detached from real life" - so Starmer's story, as overplayed as it is to you and me will be news to many
    • It was an absolute shit show. And so much anger coming from both sides, not becoming at all (was surprised how riled cool Rishi was getting).  Agree about the format, it was lazy, whatsherchops wasn't asking pertinent questions, she was just going for binary yesses or nos. The producers didn't force either side to drill down on anything, just make commitments so they got good soundbites.  If I hear 'my father was a tool maker' / my wife's a nurse / my father was a GP one more time... as if any of those things qualify anyone to fix / understand anything.
    • Good.  Subsidence claims generally have an excess of £1000 per claim, but was yours higher?
