My eldest is hyper sensitive too. The doctor prescribed Sun Sense & she's fine with that. I tend to just buy it over the counter now rather that claiming it on prescription which feels a bit unfair really (as I'd be buying some type for her anyway).

You can get it from the chemist on Northcross Rd in huge pump action bottles or as a roll on which the kids like.

There is a brand Health Matters sell that is good too but expensive & I can't recall the make sorry.

We have had success with the new Ambre Solaire SPF 50 spray so far this summer. No unusual reactions (just aside from heat rash which has nothing to do with the cream) and only a tiny little bit of red eyes yesterday after an hour playing in the water jets which made the cream run into his eyes. All in all very happy with this one.

We've used Nivea 50+ Kids Pure & Sensitive today. 4* UVA and good so far. Thanks BB100!

In my search I've learnt a lot....!

1 Green People's UVA is around 3*. They apparently can't currently get higher naturally. Their highest SPF is 25 so UVA is above the EU minimum but not by much (and on a lower SPF)

2 SPF blocks a percentage of UVB in the equation 1-1/SPF. So factor 15 blocks 1-1/15=93% of UVB rays

3 UPF in clothes works the same as SPF but applies to all UV rays. Eg a UPF of 50 blocks 1-1/50 or 98% of UVA and UVB.

That helped my understanding of a few things so thought I'd share it in case it helped others. The UVA star system is utterly confusing (or maybe I've had too many babies!)

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
