Amazing hand made bag shop

Recommended Posts

I was walking down Rye Lane from Nigel Road today and spotted a good looking leather bag in the window of a lovely looking building with (slightly too) inconspicuous signage. Popped in to have a look.

There was a huge range of beautifully designed handmade leather bags and other really great accessories. Spotted a lovely leather satchel, fully lined and pocketed, for ?45! Sadly my files wouldn't fit into it, so she offered to make me one to fit! She is also going to lengthen the strap as I like it wear a strap diagonally across me. All for ?55. I could hardly believe my luck.

It's called Jaark, just at the top of Rye Lane on your right. Definitely worth a visit.

I noticed this shop last week. Sue, it's at the end nearest the common, sort of opposite the Tesco (there is/was a sewing machine repair shop in the same building). As you walk from ED to Peckham Rye station it's on the left hand side, just at the point where the buses go down the buses only part down to the station.

    • It’s good we are having this discussion. My point of view is that we are definitely witnessing an attempt at genocide in Palestine, the right wing of the Israeli government have some awful views, some of the language representing the worse of humanity.  Jewishness should not be conflated with Israel or Zionism, I see that has been the case for some of the comments in this thread. Conflating the actions of a Zionist Israeli Government with Jewish people is actually considered antisemitism and is a very dangerous way of thinking, leading to Jewish people in the UK feeling unsafe.    Support peace and march today, I have been many times and met some lovely people.  It’s a long read, but if any of you are interested in how early Israeli settlers from Europe viewed Arab-Jews and the consequences do have a read.  https://www.vox.com/world-politics/24122304/israel-hamas-war-gaza-palestine-arab-jews-mizrahi-solidarity
