Curtains, that pitt cue book looks fab. What are you cookin' from it first? Do tell.

Have to say am not a fan of bacon-topped cocktails tho - they're everywhere these days! I say this as someone who thinks bacon on burgers is just wrong. So maybe I just don't get the whole bacon-on-everything thing.

Haven't bought any new cook books lately, wouldn't mind the pizza pilgrims one. Not a new book but I'd love Fuschia Dunlop's, Every Grain of Rice, such am impressive knowledge of China and its various regional styles of cooking. I have yet to manage to cook a decent chinese meal from home.

Numbers, you know my love of all things bacon. Remember my recipe for Buffins (bacon muffins)

I'm V much liking the Pitt Cue book. Funnily, their veg dishes which are really good. Burnt leeks with anchovy hollandaise. Or burnt/chargrilled Hispi cabbage with wild garlic. And their meaty bone marrow mash is awesome. Lamb rump is very easy.

Bloomim delicious the lot of it tho.

On a further VEG TIP, I went to Brouno Loubet's new restaurant opening last night at The Grain Store Kings X. Some revelation and very clever. It sounds like a contradiction, but imagine a veggie restaurant that served meat too. That's their thing & I like it.

Loubets new book is la la la lovely.

    • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
    • They are people.  That's how people often behave.
    • Same reason there are several pizza places and Indian restaurants?
