Does anyone know of any book recycling points in the SE22-ish area?

Lots of people just leave them outside their houses in a box for passers by to help themselves. In fine weather of course.

Outside the church in Coplestone Road (last time I looked)

Junction of Friern/Etherow Street (small painted box in the  garden hedge)

There's also a small one on Forest Hill Road by a front garden gate, its on the left if you're walking up the hill from FH surgery towards Honor Oak

Aren't charity shops in effect for book recycling?

Admittedly not free, but if you can afford to, you can buy books there then take them back when you've read them.

Recycles the book and helps the charity twice!

The Ivy House community owned pub  in Stuart Road SE15  has a free library where you can take books to it and borrow from it.

As an aside, I have read recently of some nasty people removing all or most of the books from free book banks, and then selling them 😡
