I would like to recommend Canacabins who have just done a small job for me, which blossomed into a fairly large job:

They extended our side shed; installed beautiful fencing along garden wall; built and installed secure garden gate; installed back door and new french door and project managed the whole thing which included recommending a great tiler and getting a new iron gate installed.

They also turned their hand to replacing rotten joists and fitted new wood floor to dining room,

And over 10 years ago they paved our patio which has really stood the test of time.  But I’m not sure if they still do that type of work.

Very experienced, great eye for details, efficient snagging, great to work with.

Highly recommend Patrick, Phillip and Casper from SE22-based CanaCabins who recently built a combined garden office and storage unit.

From the first meeting, they were wonderful at guiding and advising on the bespoke building I wanted. They were also super agreeable towards any particular requests I had. Having spoken to numerous businesses and obtained other quotes, CanaCabins were very competitive, and happy to professionally advise on possible ways to reduce fees e.g. alternative materials, potential other solutions etc.

The office is built to an unbelievable spec. They were so meticulous with their groundwork and preparation in advance, and their hard work and detailed finish has created the most wonderful space. The lovely and professional electrician they recommended, Frank Mackay, was wonderful in his collaboration with them, which removed any of the logistical stress from my side.

They also landscaped the surrounding garden, and I was very impressed with Patrick's expertise with this too.

I'll share pictures later in the year when the final paintwork has been done on the exterior. However, feel free to private message me if you'd like some photos of some of the process.

Highly recommend canacabins. They built a brilliant garden office for us as well as redoing our front garden to accommodate a bike shed.

It was a pleasure working with Philip and Patrick throughout the process, they went above and beyond in supporting us when we realised that planning permission was required for our situation which was hugely appreciated. The work was completed to a very high quality with brilliant attention to detail and an infectious enthusiasm for what they build.

We absolutely love the final result and get a lot of use out of our garden office- we didn’t have much space to play with but we’ve ended up with an additional room in our home which we’re really pleased with.

thanks Canacabins!

Recommendation

I have used Philip and Patrick several times to do garden work for us- including digging up concrete paving to make way for Astro turf, putting up new fencing, trellis and garden lights. We have personally recommended them to many friends over the years but can do so here too gladly.

Hi all,

Just wanted to post a quick review on a local company in East Dulwich, Canacabins. Phillip, Patrick & the team recently built a garden room for me to use as a studio and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. It's transformed my working space and the whole process was easy. Phillip is thorough and detailed in his communication and Patrick is professional and friendly - just what you need when undertaking a project which can at first be a little daunting.

Find out more here, you won't be disappointed;

Cheers

Patrick and Casper did a great job transforming our back garden from a boring square of rotten decking to a beautifully paved area that gives us room to plant around the edges while still leaving us a big enough space for a large table and chairs in the middle. They were great to deal with and were happy to work with our initial design and subsequent changes. Their attention to detail and care for what they do was great to see and we're looking forward to getting it planted up and finished ready for next years 'Mediterranean' summer. Thanks guys for all your hard work and for helping the job run so smoothly with such good humour...

As they'd already done a great job with our garden and bespoke cupboards/shelves for the sitting room, we asked Phillip and Patrick to refurbish our loft shower room. Once again they, and the lovely Kasper, were a delight to work with. They waterproofed and re-tiled the floor, replaced some wall tiles and fitted a new shower enclosure for us. We're very pleased - the shower room looks like new new and no longer leaks. Highly recommend!

Phillip, Patrick and Kasper worked on the complete remodelling of our garden and built a lean-to shed. They came up with great ideas, performed quality work and were always friendly and flexible. We have had lots of compliments regarding our garden (and beautiful lean to) from people coming over!

Chiming in to recommend the Canacabins team, who did a beautiful job completely rebuilding a well-loved (but falling down) shed into a new garden office. While they were at it, they also constructed a new pond surround, deck, railing, and patched up our decrepit fence, all to a high standard. A friendly team and very happy with the end result!

We looked at a few contractors when considering our garden room and are really pleased we went with Canacabins - a great local company with many years of experience in bespoke garden rooms.

Phillip and Pat maintained constant communication throughout the project from design to build and completion and they really listened to our design feedback, happily changing plans to suit our family’s needs.

The team, Kaspar and Andy in particular, were lovely to have around and very professional. We ended up adding garden landscaping as the project evolved and it was great to have a company that already knew us.

Just had this team/ company demolish a front wall, dig out the trees, build a wall, a place for the bins, landscape the front with stones and the liked and lay a new path and porch with a bull nose stone step. We are very happy with their work, diligent and attentive to detail, (it’s always difficult to know until things have bedded in for a few years but) good quality. Excellent communication.

They’re very local, they know the East Dulwich clay, that the buildings and grounds are essentially mobile, and very dependant on the temperature and moisture in the ground.

I think the key things for us - busy, always in and out, young kids etc - were we felt perfectly safe with them here, I don’t think they mucked about with pricing or quality once we were set (bits and bobs come up and were effortlessly sorted) and all in all, over the time it took for them to get the right quality (for them! the finish is good) we quite liked the team. We’d have them back in a moment, and are very happy to recommend them.

Canacabins have just completed a very big garden project for us in Herne Hill.

The have built a wonderful garden room for the family with lots of complicated elements, including digging out a basement. They managed to solve every element however and the result is a wonderful space, done to a very high spec.

Patrick and Philip are a fantastic duo to work with as are the team they bring in to complete the project.

We would highly recommend them.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
