rhino-studio
Hi allI'm not sure where I stand here. I have a driveway where the pavement is dropped but which "technically" isn't marked as a driveway ie. no white lines (application is in). However in the meantime, it is clearly a driveway, and is used as such.A neighbour keeps blocking me in. Do I have any rights without the white lines? When they do this, I can't use my car. A note was left but the response wasn't very neighbourly! Can anyone advise me if I have any rights here without the white lines?thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33351-driveway-being-blocked-advice/ Share on other sites
LondonMix
Have you contacted the police to see if they can issue a ticket without the white lines? If you already have the legal rights without the lines, then have them towed / ticketed. If you don't have the legal rights yet, then unfortunately, if speaking to them hasn't resolved the issue, you'll just have to deal with it until the application comes through. How very annoying. pebbles
Was your car in there when they block? How utterly selfish of your neighbours - sooooo annoying.I just did a quick search and came up with this - hope it helpshttp://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080829114344AA0Rehr Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33351-driveway-being-blocked-advice/#findComment-654853 Share on other sites
Siduhe
The white line is a courtesy marking only provided by some councils in some places. It's the drop kerb that is key. Blocking you from getting out is an offence. Blocking you from getting back in not. Will try and find refs for you. Siduhe
Have a look at these threads and links. Can be difficult to get police interested though. Hope it helps. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1057095,1058183#msg-1058183http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,449655,449679#msg-449679 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33351-driveway-being-blocked-advice/#findComment-654860 Share on other sites
uncleglen
I accidentally parked across someone's drive because there was snow and the car was behind large gates and I didn't see them and was new to the area. First I knew of it was when a policeman knocked on my door.
