It's a huuuuge kitchen they have there. I hate chains but I might be tempted.

There's a brilliant Mexican place in West Norwood. It has a tiny seating area and a booze licence, but it's mostly takeway and delivery. Mojo Burritos and Tacos, 18 Knights Hill, London SE27 0HY.

I very much suspect they are here for the delivery market, hence the huge kitchen. Not sure that they should be leaving their five green bins leaning against their shopfront, hardly entices you in!

It's a shame to see another soulless chain moving in, its all getting a bit Little Islington now.

Why were people queuing round the block on Wednesday??

The pavement and entrances to other shops were totally blocked I had to walk in the road outside the parked cars..

not ideal as I'm on crutches at the moment and I feel it was pretty disrespectful to the other businesses (The wonderful vitamin and health food shop and Mary's charity shop) blocking customers from coming and going.

Its market economics, rents up, footfall down (cost of living) so chains are one of the few who can open up, possibly at a loss, able to ride the storm and looking towards the future when economics are more in their favour.

As much as I love the independence of ED, its bloody tough on small businesses.

They all said the same thing.if the business doesn't make money in the first year .they will close down.rip every thing out move on . They said we are now off to Sheffield. For the next one.looking forward to the shorter journey time.so we can all spend more time with the wife😉

I've always thought of Chipotle as the sort of place you pick up some grub when dashing from the pub to a gig so it seems a bit out of place on the Lane. I'm not averse to a burrito though, as long as the ingredients are pretty fresh and not the dregs that have been out keeping warm all day.

First time I heard of Chipotle was this (not for the easily offended / grossed out): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHsR65IRW_8

    • Thanks pinkeyes - not what we are looking for lunch on Sunday. Prob saved Eats Dulwich time too! umm not sure what to do about Love Dulwich - gather guys and staff that ran it no longer do— not impressed with bloke I spoke to and doubt it will be busy on Sun - would love to be proven wrong ….. just have a bad vibe but we will see. Never had a problem with Vietnamese place as been there many time - but not for six months - might just trot down on Sat and see if staff are still the same. Johnnies have new team as well! Gail’s closed - that is not a surprise as was going down hill when I last went. Well folks, can anyone suggest anywhere else? That offers more than a green or mixed salad for my vegetarian folk? Can be Asian or Thai as well - anyone been to the place on Half Moon Lane near Bookshop or has that changed hands as well.. Might just settle for pizza in West Dulwich along Rosendale Road unless they have changed chef and hands. Must be somewhere in East Dulwich that caters for the odd vegetarian - maybe not but find it amazing that nothing in East Dulwich.           What is the Italian like in the side road by East Dulwich Station? Think folk have mentioned it was good - no idea what it is called.
    • Yes, that was why I deleted my post! Only not in time, it seems! I realised I had mixed up two restaurants!
    • Oh, sorry, I thought they were taking over the old Barcelona site opposite the old Harvester?
