It beggars belief as to why Southwark Planning keep refusing applications for a mobile phone mast in the area around North Dulwich Station. The last refusal was 23/AP/2219 for a spot on Townley Road.
The entire area nearby, including Dulwich Village has abysmal mobile phone reception.
In this day and age when everyone is dependent on their phones why does the Council not take a more realistic view on the matter. Or is it Dulwich Estates that has a veto.

It looks like the Dulwich Society did object alongside a whole host of nimby boomers who are scared witless by progress and change.

Also looks like there were no issues from Southwark in the preapplciation consultation so it seems it's come down entirely to the public objections.

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
