Wooden floor specialist needed

Dr De Soto

Recommended Posts

We had our old wood floors sanded about 3 years ago. The gaps between boards were filled by knocking in wood strips, which were then sanded, then whole floor was varnished.

Alas some of these fillers are coming loose and generally need attention because they snag on socks etc. The guy who originally did the job seems to be avoiding coming back to look at/fix the job.

Any expert around who can help?

    • You have to use the right extinguisher for the type of fire - water/foam not to be used for live electrical fires for example. A quick Google says powder extinguishers can be used on the most different types of fire. In a public/commercial setting fire extinguishers have to be serviced every year. Not sure the recommendation for residential ones, but when you buy extinguishers and fire blankets check if there's an expiry date.
    • Thanks, yes I need the y piece for the water to go to IN both washing machine AND the dishwasher but the y piece doesn’t fit on the B yellow pipe…  I’m not worried about the waste pipe for now, I’m just concerned about the supply to get water in to both appliances
    • Not sure about the word “input” - do you mean outflow / waste ? Red figure A looks like the sink overflow. If B is the washing machine outflow then that’s where you want your Y fitting. ( assuming all above conjecture is correct). I’d put a cap on that chrome threaded dead connection too. Don’t just rely on the valve. It all looks a bit of a mess TBH 🫣.
