  1. We're selling our dark grey Renault Grand Scenic as we no longer need it. It's a 2008 reg, we've had it since 2010. Good points: * Full service record (from the excellent Dulwich Test Centre garage) * Only 100,000 miles (the clutch was replaced after about 70,000) * Had a service in early December * MOT & tax till ~July * Engine in good condition, still runs smoothly. Why £600 and not £1,600? * It has a dent in the side, from about five years ago * The front windows no longer open * The heater/blower doesn't work * The housing around the gear stick came loose when the clutch was replaced. But hey - it still does fine as a family runaround car in London etc. DM if you are interested.
  2. 36 inches high, 36 inches wide, 12 inches deep veneer bookcase in very good condition. 2 of the shelves are adjustable. Pick up from SE22
  3. Anyone getting the impression that the catchment areas are smaller this year?
  4. Had the Pfizer a week ago. Slightly sore arm for a day, and during the night after the jab I got slight fluey/feverish symptoms, woke up at 3am feeling clammy. Next morning I was fine.

I think if your GP is not based at the TJC then it's your GP that will text you later with the follow-up appointment. If it's for a Pfizer vaccine then I'm guessing there may only be a couple of days notice (as happened with the first vaccine).
  6. Perhaps I've been offered the covid jab because I got the flu jab, but I am Group 8 and have no underlying conditions, so am I the innocent beneficiary of an admin loophole? I don't know anyone else my age who has been offered the jab without either (a) being a frontline health worker (b) being around when there were spares or © having underlying conditions.
  7. I'm in Group 8 (the over-55s) and NHS has just offered me an appointment at Tessa Jowell next Tuesday. This is at least a month earlier than I was expecting. Anyone else?
  8. There was a really loud moped went along Colwell Rd the other evening three or four times between 2am and 5am, I would say.
  9. Are you looking to join a bookclub? We're a group of general readers in the Nunhead/East Dulwich area, who enjoy a friendly talk about books. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month, usually at a member's home (or occasionally at a pub). It's normal for us to discuss one book a month, but as we're skipping August this year, in September we'll be discussing My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite and Now We Shall Be Entirely Free by Andrew Miller. If you'd like to join us, please get in touch.
  10. This is a fabulous way to see if boxing is for you. I tried it on a friend's recommendation eighteen months ago--that says it all. Simone is high energy and encouraging. The classes are fun, supportive, a great work out and also a great de-stresser. Give it a go!
  11. If you're looking for both a good workout and a way to let go of some aggression you may be carrying around, come to one of Simone's boxing classes--supportive and friendly environment!
  12. Yes, very happy to add our endorsement of Alan - efficient, prompt, friendly, good value. The phone number for 123 Chimneys is: 020 8668 9914, based in Coulsdon.
  13. This road closure seems to have started this morning. From what I could see, it's the junction between East Dulwich Grove and Melbourne Grove that is being worked on. A raised junction? Anyone know how long this closure is going to last?
  14. Highly recommend Uwe Cohrs (uwecohrs.com), Germany trained but lives locally. He has done three pieces of work for us, cupboards, shelving with drawers and a bike shed, all excellent quality. Very genial and does most of the work offsite.
  15. Problems in Pellatt Road/Melbourne Grove/Colwell Rd are about to get much worse. The council ignored residents' advice and have started to paint excessively long double yellow lines at the corners of Playfield and elsewhere. The idea is supposedly to make the road safer. In practice it will enable cars to go faster around corners, including the blind corner on Colwell Road Meanwhile about ten parking spaces have been lost.
  16. Would definitely recommend Mark Newlove. Reliable, reasonable and polite. 07971 824 567
  17. We recommend Kaysie as well. He was reliable and reasonably priced. Sorted our problem out the day we rang him. 07596150571
  18. I've registered my objection to this absurd proposal, and would encourage others to do the same. https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/borough-wide-junction-protection/consultation/intro/
  19. We've just had several pieces of carpentry work done by Uwe Cohrs - shelves, wardrobe with draws etc. His work was excellent quality and his pricing was competitive. He's a lovely guy and lives locally. Highly recommended, we'll definitely use him again. His website is here: www.uwecohrs.com
  20. I don't know, that's why I want to hear from somebody who actually lived through it. Do the class of 2000 look back and think 'that was great'?
