George Sampson Through...well chuffed with that! (He does need to look A&D in the eyes though when talking to them...

Charlie and Strike In the judges vote......

Who will it be I wonder....

(just realised this must be what it's like reporting the cricket on the web... )

Can't help but get the feeling that Simon's votes are all based on how much money he can make out of the acts after the show... am I too cynical...

Poor kid, looks like the gamble didn't pay off.....

Oh well, can't wait until tomorrow now!....

When's Scala on....(Drool...)

I actually picked up my phone and voted for George Sampson! Why do they let the judges have those buzzers - I wanted to see what those magicians were going to do - 30 seconds longer thats all they needed. I thought the acts tonight were superb - apart from that girly dance troup!

I'm quite addicted to the show this year... didn't really see it last year at all. Am I the only one that thinks the "Cheeky Monkeys" are the most annoying thing to have been on TV in a long time?! Can't understand the judges making comments about how refreshingly "un-stage-school" they were? I would have like to see the urban dance troupe go through.

Loved Strike, something different - and Amanda's quite funny with her unashamed drooling.

Have people coming for dinner tonight, am going to have to convince them that watching BGT while eating is a good idea!

    • Before going to Social Media it is always worth checking out the details: Southwark's spending for this year: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-tax/how-we-manage-council-tax/our-budget-and-how-we-spend-council-tax/our-income-and As you will see, as with most if not all London Boroughs, shed loads goes on social care and children's services.  The cost of paying for residential care, and for 'specialist schools is massive.  As with other boroughs they have been hit hard by austerity under the coalition government.  And the failure by successive governments to sort out social care.  That is a thread all in its own rights. Local authorities of all political persuasions across England are facing tough times, several have gone into administration: Birmingham, Woking, Thurrock, Croydon, Slough, Northamptonshire, and Nottingham and 11 are on bailouts.   Covid will not have helped.  Some will have made some poor investment decisions in the past eg Thurrock and Woking;  Some total mismanagement and one has been hit by historical debt through not paying their workers fairly (Brum).   Reform promise simple solutions to cutting spending.  Not that easy is it Nige?
