We use William Bailey in ED Road and have done for years. Hubby updated his will last week (due to death of one of his beneficiaries) and was told that a number of legal firms have closed down (retirement of partners?) and his firm was inundated with work.

The original partners retired and sold the building on and the practice to a new group of solicitors.  The buyers sold on the building and the solicitors moved to other practices.

It's a real shame as the old practice was v good imo and as with so many things now, dealing with solicitors has become something you do online or on the phone with no long term relationship with any of them. A bit like how general practice has gone.  No relationship, just deal with the task/problem at hand and move on.

Not surprised...when sellingprevious house and buying our present one  Hepburns missed loads of salient points that we needed to ask vendors of our present.  Only found out what these were from the questions asked by peeps, solicotors who were buying our previous house.  Hepburns also charged a gross amount on updating our Wills.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
