Is good.

Met my son there on Friday - slightly worried I might stand out as a middle aged business man among a throng of hipster your in skinny jeans with pointed shoes and asymetric haircuts - but no, just a good crowd of all sorts, short but appealing wine & beer list and some good snacks. Parma Ham & Mozzarella, Radishes & salt, PArmesan & Honey, Almonds etc. Mains looked good - but no time to try.

Certainly worth a look in on way back from work - probably a better buzz as evening wears on.

Peckham Refreshment Rooms does a lovely bean dish - great for vegans and very tasty. Yes uncomfortable seats probably to keep a good turnover... It is a project of the Hannah Barry Gallery. All ages and types welcome! Here's hoping for more tasty food offerings in the Rye Lane area suitable for vegans...

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
