Remounting a curtain rail, Talfourd Rd, Peckham

Hi All,

I'm looking for recommendations for someone who can remount a curtain rail for me.

There's a minor complication in that there's a seriously tough girder just under the thin layer of plaster. The way we got around this before was to glue a long strip of wood to the wall, paint it white, and then mount the the curtain rail holders onto that. I see no reason that the same approach can't be repeated.

I would guess it's something any good handyman could handle? Though they'd probably want to inspect it before committing.

Thanks,

Nick

Wow this post made me laugh ...

Honestly it did

...

Curtains can go under or over the beam...

fitting a piece of wood to the plasterboards (on glue) and then fixing curtain rail to it sounds like a joke that is about to hit the floor 🫣

🤣

Sorry

---> On a serious note ...

Have you though of fitting it into a wooden or pvc window frame ?

🤔
