This friendly, young, female cat has been visiting our garden for a couple of months now. We see her almost daily and if we leave the door open she is not shy to come in the house. We’ve never worried about her as she seems in good condition and has a collar, although she’s always hungry and if any food is left out she will nab it.

She’s been in heat twice over the last couple of months and we saw her mating last week so she may be pregnant.

She’s turned up today after a week without seeing her a bit bedraggled and smelly, with matted fir so we’re a bit worried she’s not being taken care of.

We’re on Ulverscroft Road at the North Cross Road end and our house backs onto Crystal Palace Road. We’re not feeding her or taking her in, but are keen to know she’s being looked after.

She could be lost even though she has a collar on. It’s too cold for her to be outside and there are hungry foxes around.  Take her to the vet on Lordship Lane and have her scanned for a microchip.  I hate that she’s wandering around not neutered and might give birth outdoors.  I’d let her stay inside in this weather if she was coming to me.  And don’t anybody try and tell me that foxes don’t kill cats.  I have a neighbour who had two older cats killed in her back garden.

Sorry for late reply! We didn't have any luck but we are much more confident that she at least has a home as she is in much better condition now. She's definitely had her kittens as well as she grew over a period of a couple of months and has now shrunk again. We see her much less often so I'm hoping she's taking care of her offspring!

    • Not sure about that - I'm personally not too bothered by the noise, despite living possibly the closest to the site. I am bothered by the impact on all the wildlife, as should hopefully everyone with a conscience and who care about their community?
    • Their coffee and food is delicious. Really nicely decorated cafe with a nice vibe and a great selection of books too. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to chat when preparing your order.
    • The venn diagram of people who are personally really bothered by the noise from GALA and are also deeply concerned about the local bat population looks remarkably just like a circle.
    • Language is a fluid and evolving thing and as it changes the original meaning of words can alter to take on a new true meaning or meanings. Original meaning is not the same as true meaning. Take the word literal which is now used to mean the very opposite of how the word used to be used, irritating for some of us but demonstrates the English language is vibrant and alive and also very subjective. But I must go and make myself a cup of tea now or I will literally die of thirst
