Decorator recommendation - Darren Feltham

We found Darren on the forum where he has lots of good reviews and we have been very impressed by the standard of his work and professional manner throughout our job. Our living room was really tired, there were lots of little jobs required to make it look good - Darren practically reskimmed our pretty ropey ceilings to put up new coving and ceiling roses, new picture rail, tidied and repaired skirtings, painted walls and woodwork. His attention to detail was far beyond anything we could have achieved ourselves, lots of prep that definitely showed in the end result. Our friends and neighbours have also commented on what a great job he's done - a lovely chap, tidy, trustworthy and just got on with it. He finished when he said he would, arrived promptly every day and didn't charge the earth. Would highly recommend Darren and we'll definitely use his services again.

I would also like to recommend Darren to anyone looking for a painter / decorator. He recently finished a 2 week job in our house, repainting the whole house (other than bedrooms), re-fixing skirting boards, and making good some new plaster work.

He was reliable, trustworthy and professional throughout and his work was a high standard. I was very pleased we found him and I would certainly hire him again in the future

We used Darren at the end of last year based on recommendations on this forum. He was excellent. He is articulate, easy to talk to and ask questions to. He painted our bedrooms and full hallway, which involved lots of preparation as the walls were in a pretty poor state. He also mounted doors and built a cupboard/cover for our electrical box.

Darren ensures all details are covered and the work was completed to a high standard. He turned up absolutely on time everyday and worked full days, not trying to mix other projects as some others do. Darren's a nice, easy going chap and I was completely happy with his work. We will definitely be using him again when we come to painting the front of our house!

Darren has worked on 2 properties for me and has produced excellent work each time. He is pleasant, trustworthy, good value for money and a real perfectionist. So far he has painted the exterior of a house and wallpapered a living room.

We will certainly use Darren again

I found Darren on the forum and I could not be happier with the work he has done. He is a hassle free, reliable and hard working guy. His work was absolutely fantastic, very thorough, really neat and tidy. Out of all the quotes I received for the work Darren?s price was by far the best. He?s flexible with working times and extremely trustworthy. Overall, Darren is a great person who I will definitely use again and could not recommend more!

    • A pretty awful incident.  Thankfully from my time in London fairly rare.  There was a time, particularly in North London in the 00s when moped gangs would come up behind cyclists and grab their bags.  There were also scare stories about riders being pushed off at the top of the hill and the bike grabbed, or cyclists being pushed into a canal such as the Grand Union.  I think these were very exaggerated. In recent times, cyclists, in particularly women, have been mugged, on cycle routes when other riders are not around, such as Deptford/Millwall  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm27x5klxxlo But I expect that crimes involving threats/violence by criminals against cyclists are less likely than in other areas of life.  Mobile phone theft being one of the obvious examples.  I was told many years ago following a burglary that criminals would rather not have any contact with their victims, and bike theft would sound to be less risky to them by stealing locked up bikes (far too common) rather than attacking the rider.  The spate of thefts from builders vans in broad daylight knocks this a little on the head, as the criminals are often confronted. @Rockets as a regular cyclist in the past did you experience threats etc?  My worse experiences were being knocked off by dangerous drivers, once being left for dead in a hit and run, and road rage where drivers chased me or threatened me after they had passed to close, turned across me etc.  You learn from this and do your best to avoid such conflict.
    • Whilst I am not sure if this is appropriate to this case, I know that often people from minority groups don't feel safe with the police and there have been many incidents where people from minority groups have been mistreated, beaten etc, just for being.
    • It certainly was😁 Bob S
