The flats where I live have recently undergone structural repairs to brickwork by David Goddens http://goddenstructural.com. Dave was recommended by the surveyor who did a Maintenance Survey. The work included the process of inserting helical beams to address rotational cracking. The whole project was professionally managed and stress free for residents. There was excellent communication at all times, respect for property and the given timescale upheld. David’s long experience at undertaking this kind of work was evident in the high quality of the finished work. Thoroughly recommend!

Hi, I had to have a legal form (from Oz) witnessed by a Commissioner of Oaths some years ago. I made an appointment and had it done at Glazer Delmar. There was then also a statutory limit on the fee - something like ?5? I was told that any solicitor was obliged to do this, so perhaps make an enquiry. I hope my memory is reliable!

Hi, Might be worth checking if it?s over 10 instalments rather than 12? My DD are April to January, so are not collected in February and March.

Hi Skyblue Yes, I can thoroughly recommend Mr Mac ( Paul Conboy). He fitted a new hard drive to my Mac recently and brought it back to life. Really nice guy, down to earth, honest and very local. https://mr-mac-london.business.site/ MR MAC LONDON Westwood Park SE23 3QG [email protected] 07777 612 614 Best wishes Pam

(NOT Covid) Big going around? Persistent cough for kids
Pam50 replied to PSJ's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi PSJ It?s not just in children, (though in my case, it was caught from a child?s coughing). Several families around here have had a nasty chesty cough that persists for about 10 days. In my case, it also developed into a very tight congested chest, then moved to sinus areas. All of us who did tests found that they proved negative, so it?s definitely not Covid. Lots of rest, honey, liquids, steam inhalation, Sudafed. Gone in a fortnight or so with no lingering after effects. Good luck! -

Another thumbs up for Gerry who came today as arranged and fixed new cartridges to a leaking kitchen tap. Gerry was reliable, polite and did the work for a very reasonable charge. All sorted so quickly - I will never leave a tap dripping again!

Hi Seeking someone qualified and experienced to do a Risk Assessment report for the managed areas in a block of 12 flats. Does anyone have a recommendation? Many thanks Pam
-
Hi everyone! Looking for recommendations for an accountant to support the financial administration of a small limited property management company in a block of flats. Ideally, someone experienced in the administrative issues associated with having a head lease run by volunteers. If anyone has a recommendation from their own experience, I?d be really grateful for details. Many thanks!

Recommendation for planting compost delivered contactless
Pam50 replied to vixstar87's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Thank you both for the recommendation! Compost ordered online last evening and delivered with a smile this morning. The website had a couple of glitches when I was filling in the delivery address, but a quick email followed by a prompt response from James and it was soon sorted out! www.southlondonsoil.co.uk -
I?ve just read some of the comments for this post and felt really sorry for the many small businesses trying to survive in the present situation. I don?t know this particular business and the brunch menu isn?t something on my wish list. However, I did talk to the owner of my local cafe this week who is worried sick about money to pay suppliers, rent and rates etc. So I will buy a coffee there whenever I can to give support. It?s not an essential service and nor is this, but I want my local cafes to survive. So just as in the ?normal? world, individual consumers can make their own choices how to spend their money. In the case of cafes, the criteria for choice is entirely down to personal taste. Please EDF, let?s choose any comments with a little more kindness and understanding.

Hi, Wondering if anyone used a reliable and informed company/individual to advise and then connect a suitable wireless extension device for an attic room where the internet currently doesn't work? Don't want to buy one and possibly find it doesn't work - or not be able to follow the instructions! Many thanks Pam

Hi I?d be very grateful for any recommendations for redesigning/refitting a smallish bathroom? I?m looking for good contemporary design that optimises space. Many thanks! Pam

Done. Without wanting to sound like a miserable old party pooper (fair description to be fair)...it?s the sudden EVEN LOUDER bursts of shite sounds that?s so annoying. Fine if you like tone deaf pounding for 2 days, torture if you don?t!

Hi Sweetgirl So sorry for you and your little one! If you haven?t already, do think about joining the National Eczema Society . https://nationaleczema.org/ I found it really helpful to listen to experts in the field after trying every other cure under the sun! Warm wishes Pam

Help! Our central heating is not coming on.
Pam50 replied to Seminaryridge's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Might help! 🥶 -
Hi Sweetgirl I feel for you! When my little one was suffering with it some forty years ago, I found tremendous support by joining the National Eczema Society and getting involved. It gave me the opportunity to share many self-help strategies with other families and to hear the latest research from professionals on the national executive. Many were top paediatric dermatologists and far more informed than our local team. I checked and the NES are still going strong. Might be worth having a look at their website http://www.eczema.org Best wishes Pam

Hi, I would be very grateful, please, if anyone could recommend a competent and qualified Dyslexia assessor for a young teenage girl? I do know that qualified personnel can be sourced on the BDA and PATOSS websites, but just wondered if anyone on here had any personal experience. Many thanks, Pam [email protected]

Hi I?ve got the usual family stash of photos that I?d like to have scanned to a decent standard and saved digitally so they can be shared with family members. Has anyone used a specialist company for this and could recommend? Many thanks Pam
