Felt I should flag this up for anyone who is in the Trossachs Road area, or beyond, that there are thieves breaking into cars using keyless tech.  I had mine done in the early hours of this morning, which I have on video. A car stopping just in front and parallel to mine, silver or white, I think a ford fiesta.  Then one person, walking directly up to my car, a gadget in their hand, and opening my passenger door.

Sadly, I did not put my keys into the faraday pouch I use yesterday when I came home.  Something I always do, but didn't this time.  Faraday pouches are not expensive, you can get them on Amazon.  Also, good to put spare keys into a separate one, and keep both as far away from where your car is parked as possible.

See other posts about Kia cars being stolen from residents driveways in both SE22 and SE23.

Yeah, I had seen that when posted.  My faraday pouches work, I check them every so often, it was simply me forgetting to use it.  This person seemed more intent on taking valuables lying inside cars more than the car itself.

Also please note that you do need to check Faraday pouches regularly, the wire mesh inside can fail. I now keep my key in an aluminium foil pouch inside the Faraday pouch, and check at least daily it isn't compromised. I have had 4 pouches fail. So far my belt  and braces approach has worked. Together with using a steering wheel lock. Fingers very firmly crossed!

I have had these since April 2021, and just checked today for pressing key buttons when they were inside, and also sitting in the car and trying to start the engine. Still doing the trick....if you remember to put the fob inside!   https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08QJB73XY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    • Absolutely agree , the pool is in a disgusting state at the moment. I’ve also noticed how dirty it’s been lately, especially around the edges and in the changing rooms. It’s honestly at the point where it feels unhygienic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if people got sick from swimming in it. You’ve done the right thing by reporting it  hopefully if more of us raise concerns , they’ll take it seriously. Happy to add my voice to any formal complaint or petition if that helps. Thanks for speaking up — you’re definitely not alone!
    • Let's see if we can get a key so the notice board can actually be updated by someone who cares and has time (thank you Jellybeanz, if you want to do that, and if Sue can get a key), or we can have a group of key holders and content managers. It's not hard is it. There's not really any point having one if it doesn't have information
    • I  got a take away yesterday evening.  I stupidly ordered a side as well as  a bowl.  I have a hefty appetite but I had leftovers for breakfast and still some for lunch-and delicious.
    • I find that very confusing to read, because you have not separated what I said in my previous post from your reply in a way that makes it easy to see who said what. It also makes it very hard to respond to what you have said without confusing things even further! Is there any reason why you didn't just use the quote option as usual?
