Wondering where the best places are in the area for a Chinese (either takeaway or eat-in)?

I’ve just noticed the Tofu East Asian Canteen in Forest Hill.  Anyone tried it?

I have had a delivery from them - aubergines and prawn dish - very tasty.

I tried Chi Chinese last night, relatively new I believe. They are on Lordship Lane. Was really nice.  I used Deliveroo, but I think they are on UberEats and Just eat too.

Their menu (on Just Eat, they dint even seem tk have their own website) looks disappointingly similar to every other generic "Chinese" restaurant. 

Given how long it's taken them to open it seems a shame that the offer looks quite so bland.

I called them and they said they don’t have a delivery driver and to use Deliveroo.  Could not find them there.  Odd.

I was quite glad to be honest.  My regular is pretty generic, but since it was closed, this was very welcome.  There are plenty offering non generic food on the various apps. Sometimes all you want is tried and tested comfort food!  Personal choice, room for all. 🙂

Tasty house by Kings Hospital, old school Chinese that does what it says on the tin takeaway, best sweet and sour chicken balls in the area. Do their own deliveries but cash only.

The menu outside the restaurant looks better than the take away one.

What are opinions of the Hong Hong Chinese restaurant in Grove Vale which is takeaway only?

Hong Hong is my go to - best King Prawn rolls and cubes of chicken in the curry rather than the flat stuff you get elsewhere.

Yes, extremely silly.  And especially when they don’t offer a 10% discount like several Indian restaurants do, according to their websites.   Two Sisters in Nunhead is one. Was highly rated by someone on the Which is the Best Curry Restaurant thread.  Not tried yet, but at least they have the option of card payment.

I agree @Alec1! I also like a Chinese which does the classics, like a good sweet & sour chicken!

148 Chinese was indeed very good. Especially their sesame prawn toast. A very friendly place too.
