Hi

My son’s current football club has changed fixtures from Sunday to Saturday meaning he won’t be able to attend matches due to another Saturday commitment that cannot be changed. I contacted a club that was recommended that does weekday trainings and Sunday matches but they are full at the moment. If you have any other suggestions, I would be grateful as he loves football and being part of a team! Thanks!

Hi there,

There are a few clubs round here that compete in the Selkent league who all have matches on Sundays; with Athenlay, Dulwich Village and Hillyfielders being the nearest.

At this point in the season, it's too late for players to join an active team, but you might be able to get him added to a training group with a view to him joining a team for the next season.

There's also Tulse Hill Juniors nearby who play in the Tandridge League - also on Sundays

Hope this is helpful

My suggestion is Athenlay.  Followed by Athenlay.  And third choice is Athenlay.  You may be able to get him registered, but certainly worth starting training.  Also recommended for girls football.  Ground is close to the Rye, and they train there, or older kids on the Rye.  They have a 4g pitch with floodlights.  All Credit to the former Chair Lee and his team who turned the fortunes of the club around about ten years ago.

    • That's great to know. But when you compare it to the roughly  34,000 that Cat Protection rehome per year it does make you scratch your head a bit doesn't it..?

Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
