local kids charities?

Hi all, so we got some free money from the government yesterday, but this should really have been spent on public services. In lieu of that I'd like to find a local kids charity to send it to instead. I already do Pecan foodbank but would like something else that can make a local difference. Any thoughts?

What a great idea.

School Home Support https://www.schoolhomesupport.org.uk/ work with children and their families to improve low attendance in schools and maximise education opportunities for all children. They would be grateful for any support that you could give.

Agree with PeckhamNicola here. WHYC is an excellent local charity helping the most disadvantaged children in the area. We met Katie who runs it recently and she works so hard with her team to give children experiences and opportunities that would otherwise be completely out of reach.

      Hello, I'm from Ireland and would love my children to be able to know the language - I can speak it but I'm not so good at teaching it. If there's anyone local who used to teach Irish at primary school (preferably Connemara Irish) and who'd like to tutor 3 boys aged 7-10 for an hour or two a week please do let me know. Thanks, Sarah
