Just thought I'd message to say just how fabulous the Half Moon Montessori (02073265300 ) has been for my little girl, Frankie. We get the number 37 from ED, or we cycle.

They:

1: Are amazing teachers- Helen, Nina, Mercedes and Perpetua and Ash are so smiley, professional and hard working.

2: Have a lovely outdoor space, including a grow your own garden, sand and water.

3: Take childcare vouchers.

Frankie has been there for 2 years, and the teachers have been so fabulous- they know who she is, how to get her on side, they wait outside every morning from 8.30- 9am until everyone has arrived, and are lovely to chat to.

Please go and have a look around! They also do after school sessions.

Completely agree. Can’t recommend Halfmoon enough, having had 2 of my children there. The team is absolutely amazing, so incredibly caring and supportive. The kids flourish, and build long lasting friendships. They learn a wide range of skills, including phonics and maths, but also helpful practical skills, and are definitely school ready!

I also strongly agree. My third daughter was lucky enough to get a place and it’s been the  most wonderful experience. The staff are simply amazing and truly care and love the children. I wish my older two children had been lucky enough to attend.

Another recommendation for Half Moon- my youngest daughter attended and it was by far the best nursery we’ve ever experienced. The teachers are just wonderful and they care so much for the children (who, in return, love them to bits). There’s also a very low staff turnover, so there’s real stability and continuity for the children. My daughter left each day so happy and proud to show me what she’d learnt. It’s amazing!

    • Hi  I really thought I'd seen a more recent post on the forum about home education meet ups. I can't find it though. Hope some of these might provide leads. https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/137603-home-schooling-advice-anyone-wants-to-do-it-together/#comment-1092093 Very old post but group seems still to exist: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/92044-home-education-local-group/#comment-954837 You could try contacting this forum member: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/325368-classroom-support-for-home-education-community/#comment-1621064 Two of these left for right now: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/events/event/1025-🌟-teens-11-try-painting-sculpture-street-art-at-holiday-workshops/
    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
    • Was anyone else disturbed last night/early hours this morning by the party going on in someone’s garden on Crystal Palace road. Can’t see what house exactly but it’s around number 43 - 41… it was happening quite frequently last year. Seems it’s starting again! Very inconsiderate.
