Midcentury Modern Teak Cocktail Cabinet / Cupboard - Smoked Glass Shelf - 1950's - £110

Recommended Posts

I have for sale a fabulous midcentury modern teak cocktail cabinet / cupboard with removable smoked glass shelf. I'm asking £110. Cabinet measures H180cm x W 91cm x D 30cm. I've only ever used it as a storage cupboard but it could be used as a cocktail cabinet as it does have a light inside (which I've never bothered using as it has no plug and hasn't been tested) but it should be easy to either get going or replace the fitting if needed. It's a well made, attractive & useful piece of furniture. Circular handle detailing to pull down front & sliding cupboard doors. Some scratching to the wood on pull down front (see photos) and various wear & tear to due to age and use, but it'd clean up well. It's a lovely example of functional, good looking design. Cash on collection & buyer to collect (or buyer to arrange courier) from near Library on Lordship Lane. (Item doesn't dismantle except for removal of glass shelf).

    • The last I heard was that an artificial wood is being used for the superstructure. I believe the bridge was rebuilt sometime in the 1980s so it’s evident that natural wood does not last very long in such a damp location. This alternative material is coming from Australia and has been delayed due to the Red Sea being closed and international shipping being diverted around the Cape.
