Where to buy foam/memory foam mattress locally (and advice)

I am looking to purchase a new mattress this weekend but am struggling to work out where, taxiable or busable (with a mattress,)I could pick one up from. Does anyone have any ideas?

As I am looking for a 4ft (small double, 3/4 bed) size my options with the big boys seem to be narrowed - Argos, Dreams, John Lewis, M&S, Sleepright cannot help.

Also, I'm a bit confused as to what I should be looking for - there seem to be regular foam, memory foam and latex options or various combinations - does anyone have an opinion on what is best? Also the thickness seems to vary - is there a minimum thickness I should look for? I'm looking for something relatively firm and for every night use. Obviously price is a factor too - I can splash out on something that isn't the cheapest but prob don't really want to spend more than about ?300 max.

Thanks for any advice in advance :-)

We got a memory foam mattress topper from John Lewis, rather than a whole mattress. A double was about ?300 so should be within your range. It's fabulous. They have different options and I think ours was near the top of the range.

    • A couple more PR / tickbox sessions are being offered by the organisers (the expression "reaching out" really makes my skin crawl), again presumably without any council representatives attending. No sign of the results of the consultation yet, or when the meeting is to decide whether to grant the licence... • I must say Dulwich is the worse borough I’ve seen for dog mess. Literally everywhere I step it’s dog poo! There is a lot of children/kids in this area god forbid they fell in it. Fix up dog owners!!
    • I can’t recommend Niko highly enough. Not only did he solve a problem that was puzzling others, but he started with the least disruptive and least expensive option which worked. He is also a delight to have in the house. 07818607583
    • I have been training with the brilliant personal trainer Fox (yes, that is his real name) for over 3 months now. I can't speak highly enough about Fox, Gok and their team. I was desperately unfit and now I am in danger of turning into a gym junkie! If you are considering joining a gym/class or getting a personal trainer then I would 100% recommend Gokay Fitness.
