Came across this recently and can't wait to see how Southwark and the pro cycling lobby react to this.

Flying cars are now reality at https://jetson.com/

Although as a side note, next delivery window 2026 and at a cost of over £100 thousand - can't see it replacing Volvo SUVs just yet...

Not sure why this will wind people up.  I work in transport and a former colleague moved to a flying car company.  They went bust.  It's niche/novelty or for those who don't know what to do with their money.  It won't be mainstream.  Whereas cycling is an excellent solution for many people's transport needs in urban areas.

At one time cars were seen as niche and for the rich with too much money, but mass production and automation of production lines soon placed cars in the hands of everyone.

Whilst I think the Jetson one won't be the answer, you can bet your bottom dollar that flying cars will be on (or is that above) the streets sooner than we think 🤔

    • Yep Monday is family festival but I think it would be churlish to avoid this on principle and if you are free at least check it out.  I was simply responding to a comment that there were not free festivals.  I've no strong feelings about Gala, and whilst I could hear it, it stopped around 11 and I've experienced worse.  Volunteering at Glastonbury and at Shambala and that bloody drum and base going on till 4 in the morning.  I'm aware Gala affects others far more but conflating this with LTNs and with Lambeth council was strange.
    • Last night was a different kind of event entirely though...
    • We can all be cynical but I hope you or others will pop over to the free festival and share your views.  I'd go but I am away.  It looks great.  (Note I don't know why some had to post their disgust on the events page - I expect many locals will go to the free event and some to the Gala itself).
