Have just informed my credit card company that I will be in Europe for several weeks to be told that telling them is no guarantee that my card will not be stopped if they feel that a payment is irregular. I appreciate that they are being 'careful' with their money, but what on earth is the point of having a credit card and doing as requested and informing them of my actions if they still have the power to cut off my card without recourse?

Is this part of a concerted effort to make us holiday in the UK?

That is weird Cassius! As you say, if you tell someone in advance how can it be suspicious behaviour?

The most recent time abroad CapitalOne have been behaviong a bit oddly. firstdirect as good as gold evertime tho
