Something amiss here.

It says Jah got 10pts but his total only went up by 7pts.

Yeah, he's lost 3 points for a 'correct result'. Same has happened to me. I haven't checked everyone. I'll send them a message and see what they say.

I didn't receive any acknowledgement regarding the missing 3 points query from PA. Have you noticed any adjustment in the scores rectifying it DR?

It seems only Jah, Lady G and myself had the deductions of losing one 'correct score'. But as Jah didn't have any that week, it seems to have been applied for some reason other than what happened in that particular week.

There will have to be an enquiry if you finish on top by 3 or less 🙃

Just got this:

"Hi Alan,

Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks for your feedback, after investigating further we noticed that some members were incorrectly awarded duplicate points, this issue was fixed, which meant a change in the scores.

Best wishes

Doesn't really clarify anything. When was anyone awarded duplicate points?

I usually check to see if my points tally up correctly, but not all the time, and I rarely check to see if my cumulative score tallies up correctly each week. Not sure why I noticed Jah's score that week, probably because I was keeping tabs how many points I was behind him at the time.

Hopefully this is just a one-off...

Final round of matches, how time flies!

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
