I've just set up a World Cup mini league in PredictAddict called EDF Sambatastic World Cup 2014.

It should be easy for existing registered players to join, just type in the mini league name and Pin No. 52847.

I like the Negra version - I was hoping for Brazilian beer but maybe it's time to revive the old game of only drinking beers from the countries playing at any given time (last tried this in 98 with some help from Utobeer at Borough Mkt)


So day one,

kick off with Brahma and Karlovacko - early night (in training)


first full day

Dos Equis or said Modelo combined with a cold Castel or a bottle of Mamba (shop early)

then an easy San Miguel and Amstel combo

and finishing the evening with a cold Escudo or two and a well chilled Carlton Crown.


this should be easy...

      Oh I agree - we shouldn’t just blank cheque anyone  but I would still say as we aren’t running a council it’s difficult to be part of the decision making process and understand what the cost-benefit of something we see as wastage is versus something else  The fact that ideological purists like reform think they can take over a council and boast about the savings only to find they can’t suggests a wider picture

      Yes, true although I believe some forward thinkers are seeing the benefit of low noise and drone light shows instead, especially as it could be argued the loud bangs to ward off 'evil' have actually become the real menace.

      And I'm afraid very loud fireworks are rather a thing, the noise being necessary to scare away evil things at New Year.
