dulmum
It is mrs Dulmum's birthday tomorrow and she fancies Thai or similar South East Asian fare. I live in ED and usually go to the Corner Cafe. Anyone have any suggestions for something a bit different, and bit more special, in the South East? I used to go to the Thai Pavilion a bit but have heard mixed reports recently. Any thoughts? DaveR
Mangosteen in Gipsy Hill serves Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian dishes and might qualify as "a bit more special"I've had a couple of good meals there and Time Out rate it. Nero
I really enjoy Lombok in Herne Hill. You'd need to book for Friday or Saturday, I think. It has more of a restaurant feel than Thai Corner Cafe. The service is very good, the food is very good, too, and it's a nice stroll through the park and down Half Moon Lane, perhaps with a stop off at the Dog to make an evening of it? dulmum
Cheers all, stroll through the park to Lombok is tempting, as is the stop in the Dog. However, Mrs D is heavy with child and getting ever so slightly bored of watching me drink. I'll go for Buddah Jazz and hope the food is better than the name.
