With my fifties rapidly approaching I finally decided to grab the bull by the balls and shoot for my dream of international pop mega-stardom. It?s not as easy as it looks on the TV and the starter books designed for five year olds are a bit humiliating at first but I couldn?t have wished for a better guide than Roksana. Despite having to do large chunks of the first year on Zoom at a stressful time for all of us, she has kept my spirits up with her enthusiasm and good humour. I?ve struggled to find the time for a decent practice routine but still feel like I?m making some progress, learning to read music for the first time in my life and spending a couple of hours a week trying to force my brain into learning something entirely new. Am really enjoying the experience and that is, I?m very large part, down to Roksana - can?t recommend highly enough if you still harbour dreams of becoming the next Tom Waits.

The catchment for St Anthony's is a 1.3 miles radius. They are consistently over-subscribed so I would guess they do not have to take kids from outside the catchment. Whatever the reasons for congestion around this school, I can't see how the fact that it is a faith school changes anything.

I was very dubious of the bossman when he opened, now i think he's great for when the Majestic stash is drained dry. Just round the corner, good selection of workaday reds, not bad for ales, cheap bbq lager for the weekend. What more do you want? There are plenty of other places to get the posh stuff when your father-in-law is coming.

Some of the indie/arty crowd from Inside 72 used to squat next door to me, adding a touch of colour to my grey yuppie world. Used to invite us round for wild sub-Doherty/Moss style parties, but they eventually got my goat when they complained about our planting in the garden.

Pek Chopped ham was a great family favourite. Sliced in thick cut white bread with tomatoes and lots of pepper. Another belter is tinned sardines on toast. Mash up a tin of sardines in tom sauce with chopped onion, cheddar cheese, black pepper and tabasco sauce.

Christ alive, lets not mince words, everything about this place looks f*cking dreary. I was depressed when I72 shut and am even more depressed that this shower have got hold of the keys. 'Like yah, when i got back from travelling right, i got a 5% stake in this chain of wicked bars with toby. we are opening one in East Dulwich, which is like so totally up-and-coming. The next clapham right' Arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh, i guess it will keep the hoxton-finned cnuts in foxtons away from the rest of us.

Co-op deal looks like signing today and completing in a couple of months. Subject to OFT clearances this will be changed into a co-op some time in the autumn.

It is mrs Dulmum's birthday tomorrow and she fancies Thai or similar South East Asian fare. I live in ED and usually go to the Corner Cafe. Anyone have any suggestions for something a bit different, and bit more special, in the South East? I used to go to the Thai Pavilion a bit but have heard mixed reports recently. Any thoughts?

????, I don't see why it takes such a leap of imagianition to think that this could be a busy and flourishing market in a few years given the right kind of stalls and the right kind of promotion by the council. Seven or eight years ago when Borough consisted of a couple of stalls, and a good night out in ED consisted of a few pints in the Foresters followed by afters behind Kebab & Wine, it would have been difficult to imagine Borough becoming one of the biggest attractions in London or ED becoming a 'destination' night out for half of South East London. Still, I guess you saw all this coming.

I live on Nutfield Road and the parking is normally tricky on a Saturday but it is still much better than most of London and is free. I recognise that expanding the market will make the parking situation worse, but I reckon this would be out-weighed by a considerable expansion of the market which would make it a better, more lively place to live. I do like strolling out of a Saturday morning and seeing the good folk of East Dulwich in all their unshaven be-buggied glory indulging in some of the more poncy pleasures of life. However, at the moment the market is stagnating and there needs to be some external trigger that will give it the critical mass it needs. It needs more stalls to get more people in, which will in turn drive more and better stalls - I think the trigger for this could be pedestrianisation. I think it would greatly enhance the place if we had a pedistrianised, vibrant, 'destination' market in ED along the lines of a Columbia Road, which in turn brings up the quality of surrounding shops/pubs etc...
