  1. "You look so beautiful, I can hardly keep my eyes on the meter." Woody Allen, Manhattan
  2. Anyone got any idea which agent is dealing with this?
  3. b*llocks, i fear the onset of drab uniformity along the whole strip. No more duvel and green fairy frenzies for me.
  4. We need a good pattiserie, an icecream parlour and a pizza place. If the icecream/pizza place was big enough to accomodate prams it would be great if this could serve good coffee during the day. If you have a pram and find the chain place on the corner a bit souless, ED is poorly served for places to go for coffee. We have too many Indian restaurants and not enough European restaurants. A few more Spanish/Italian/French restos would go down a treat, as would a fish restaurant. Personally, I think that East Dulwich blokes are pretty poorly catered for in terms of clothes. A small independent cinema would be lovely, but am not sure we can sustain it
  5. > Actually, I have thought of one difference about > those shops (or their owners)....but I doubt it's > behind the Telegraph's selection But Mootown is run by a Welsh bloke and his wife who is second generation Indian, whose family are from Derby - hardly classic torygraph demographic either
  6. I know the cheese guys are open everyday until christmas - not sure about the oyster dude.
  7. popped in there last night - they don't stand a chance. A very dull selection which was poorly laid out and looked to be very fully priced. Nothing here to worry Somerfield in terms of exctiement and selection, let alone G&B's and Nicolas. BTW, is nothing to do with the SMBS/Cheese Block
  8. Go to the van on NCR, brilliant meat, always friendly and very rarely lenghthy queues. They are in the process of buying one of those long, French-style vans and will also be there 6 days a week. Gave up on WR quite a while ago - the weekends are too short to spend that long waiting to be barged in the queue and abused by the staff.
  9. I work just up the road in Portland Place and go over waterloo bridge, through Covent Garden, onto Charring Cross Road, then take a left off Tottenham Court Road. Have never had any problems with this route - takes me between 40 and 45 mins.
  10. It would have been an amazing coincidence if it wasn't Foxton's given that he had called them half an hour before to complain and left his number for them to get back.
  11. It may work, but there is a precedent here. On the opening night one of my neighbours phoned Foxton's to complain about the huge number of cars parked on our street and went straight through to voice mail. Half an hour later they called back screamed 'fuck off' down his mobile and hung-up. On this evidence, I can't really see the reasonable approach getting very far.
  12. I think Foxtons is the straw that is breaking the camels back. We are reaching saturation point in the streets off Northcross Road on a Friday and Saturday which will be made worse when it is pedestrianised. What is really galling is the sight of clusters of agents strolling up and down the road breezily chatting to their clients as if it were a commercial facility.
  13. Does anyone know of a legal method of stopping estate agents using your street as a parking space for their poxy little cars?
