Patches of damp suddenly appearing in ground floor flat - who to call to investigate?

Friend has this problem.

Damp is at  floor , base of wall. No cellar.Privately owned flat in Nunhead. Investigation for leaking pipes has proved negative.

What trade /profession/firm to investigate?

Any recommendations ?

Intexas, you could try rephrasing the question to ask if anyone locally has the same problem and if so what did they do about it, rather than asking what trade to use?

Then put a new post on the section you were in. Leave out the reference to Nunhead.

I have a fairly similar issue so would also be interested in the replies.
