Spartacus
TfL have opened a consultation on the proposed charges for the Silvertown and Blackwall tunnels https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/tc-yourview This will obviously have an impact on people living in the south east of London who need to commute to north London by car (and visa versa) plus wider ramifications for those outside of London Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/347771-silvertown-and-blackwall-tunnel-consultation-on-charges/ Share on other sites

Spartacus
It is a problem that will restrict people on the NE / E / SE and further afield getting across the Thames, (Dartford, Silvertown and Blackwall crossings all charging) which isn't the samw for people crossing to the west of London A side effect could be worse traffic on thw M25 as people choose to go around via Heathrow rather than the East side or going through other parts of London where its free to cross the river (congestion charge not whithstanding) due to charges. My personal opinion is it is short sighted of the Mayor and will cause more issues than the new Silvertown tunnel solves. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/347771-silvertown-and-blackwall-tunnel-consultation-on-charges/#findComment-1672880 Share on other sites
