here here!!!!!!!! I spent an hour or two there yesterday. The jazz band was fantastic - a perfect sunday arvo.. most peoples kids were kept under control with 3 bagging the prime sofa seat listening to the music intently and a old guy bopping around break some jazz moves.

I went to the Clockhouse on Friday....the difference between the two was unbelievable. Well done Graham and IH gang!.

I did a little more "research" into the ivy house last night and went there with some friends to eat. It was pretty much just as I'd hoped as far as food was concerned. I had a pie minister pie with chips. Did exactly what it said on the tin. The pie was yummy, the chips were good, skin on chips, tasty onion gravy and all topped off with a couple of really good, tasty pints of something or other. The fish and chips looked good too. All in all, plain but tasty and lots of it. Think "nice northern country pub" - it's pretty close to that sort of fare.

The staff were attentive and friendly. The manager was around and very welcoming.

So pleased they're making such a good job of the whole thing.

Adf.ly is not spam. ?? Well it could be. but not malicious. Could be an unrelated Advert.

It is a service where people register for an account.

They then issue a 'Short' URL to your site. All advertising is strictly family-safe with no popups

In return you get paid a revenue based on visits to your site. $4.00 /1000 visits (Typically)

Short or 'Tiny URLs' are useful in Twitter where you are limited to 140 characters.

Have checked the link. Not an advert. just a link to the adf.ly website.

Think they are suggesting The Ivyhouse could register. thus getting revenue when people visit the site.

Also used in Magazines e.g. WebUser where they are used to Download Apps.

So the App. developer gets a small amount of revenue.

LOVE the Ivy House. Sunday afternoon, fantastic music, brilliant (unfancy but tasty) food and a real sense of community. Kids, yes, but not dominating. Like the idea of a child-free room, having said that. Not a hint of flock, or gastro thank god. Feels like pubs 'used to be' but I suspect thats just nostalgia, and actually it is much better.

Totally agree, we were there on Saturday afternoon/evening and had a great time.

Excellent music from a wide range of musicians, really tasty food (I had a really yummy stew which was new to the menu), and was delighted to find they've still got the Truman's Runner on!

    • A quick assessment on having a barter scheme amongst the community. An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.

Thank you for stepping up.   whilst I’m here, I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a barter scheme amongst the community. an exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum?
